When you create an account on Foursquare, the following is viewable to the public. Note that some elements are optional or can be edited.
Your name / Profile photo / Home city / Your bio / Links to Twitter and Facebook (if they’re connected) / Mayorships / Badges / Your Foursquare friends / Tips and Lists / Check-in comments / Likes/Dislikes / Check-ins shared to Facebook and/or Twitter / “Here now”
SPECIAL TERMS FOR PAGES
* If you have a “Page” on the Service, you also agree to the following:
– Pages are special profiles that may only be used to promote a business or other commercial, political, or charitable organization or endeavor (including non-profit organizations, political campaigns, bands, and celebrities).
– You may only administer a Page if you are an authorized representative of the subject of the Page.
– All Content posted on the Pages will be made available to all users of the Services.
– You may not display any Content on your Page that is an ad or could be construed as an ad.
– Your Page will not be used primarily or substantially to promote or advertise alcohol or tobacco products, firearms, or other products or services that may not be lawfully purchased or used by minors.
– You will not direct your Page, or any Content on your Page, to children under the age of 13.
– You will not use deceptive practices to get users to “like” your Page.
VENUE AND EVENT TERMS
In order to claim a Venues or an Event, a Manager must be invited and/or approved by Foursquare and complete the applicable verification process for such Venue or Event to become an “Authorized Venues” or an “Authorized Event,” as applicable, and to access the ServicePlatform. If you are registering as a business entity, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind the entity to this Agreement.

How to be the best foursquare photographer possible
Taking photos is more an art than a science, but we’ve got some tips to help make sure that yours are as good as possible.
Lighting and framing! Make it pretty. People love pretty things.
Originality! Upload your photos, not somebody else’s.
Keep it appropriate. Though nudity is natural, not everyone wants to see it. The same goes for hateful things, spam, and irrelevant photos. So steer away from naked people, mean-ness, gross-ness, inappropriate-ness and anything else that you wouldn’t want to see when you’re exploring. If The New York Times would object to printing it, chances are that the foursquare community would also.
Be respectful. Don’t take photos that include people’s private information, like a credit card number or phone number, and don’t upload a photo of anyone who doesn’t want their picture uploaded. Think twice: you wouldn’t want your private info shared either.
Be yourself. Foursquare is a community of people, and you’re a big part of that. Take photos and have fun.
Use an email address to create an account on Foursquare, or connect with Facebook or Google+.
Customize the profile
After you login, go to your profile page and customize your profile. You can add a profile image, set the location (in order to see recommendation for that location), connect with other social networks to share Foursquare activity, etc.

If you are a local business, Foursquare is a social network which can help you with online promotion. You should create a page and then people can check in, review, etc.

Add the business and the location, after which you will have to go through the process of verification in order to confirm that you are the owner (or the representative) of the business in question.
