Instagram is a social network for sharing photos and videos. Primarily designed as a mobile app, this network allows users to connect by liking and sharing content, and following profiles of other users. Integration with other social networks allows quickly sharing content on multiple accounts.
Instagram is a social-sharing website for sharing photos and videos, with digital filters available. The sharing process is integrated with Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and Flickr, which enables users to share on several social networking sites simultaneously.
The website went live in 2010 and it rapidly grew in popularity, and at this point there are over 200 million monthly active users. The Instagram app additionally increased the popularity of this service, as well as Facebook’s acquisition of Instagram in 2012. After the acquisition, Instagram is still operating as a separate service.
* Basic Terms
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
You may not post violent, nude, partially nude, discriminatory, unlawful, infringing, hateful, pornographic or sexually suggestive photos or other content via the Service.
You are responsible for any activity that occurs through your account and you agree you will not sell, transfer, license or assign your account, followers, username, or any account rights. With the exception of people or businesses that are expressly authorized to create accounts on behalf of their employers or clients, Instagram prohibits the creation of and you agree that you will not create an account for anyone other than yourself. You also represent that all information you provide or provided to Instagram upon registration and at all other times will be true, accurate, current and complete and you agree to update your information as necessary to maintain its truth and accuracy.
You agree that you will not solicit, collect or use the login credentials of other Instagram users.
You are responsible for keeping your password secret and secure.
You must not defame, stalk, bully, abuse, harass, threaten, impersonate or intimidate people or entities and you must not post private or confidential information via the Service, including, without limitation, your or any other person’s credit card information, social security or alternate national identity numbers, non-public phone numbers or non-public email addresses.
You may not use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose. You agree to comply with all laws, rules and regulations (for example, federal, state, local and provincial) applicable to your use of the Service and your Content (defined below), including but not limited to, copyright laws.
You are solely responsible for your conduct and any data, text, files, information, usernames, images, graphics, photos, profiles, audio and video clips, sounds, musical works, works of authorship, applications, links and other content or materials (collectively, “Content”) that you submit, post or display on or via the Service.
You must not change, modify, adapt or alter the Service or change, modify or alter another website so as to falsely imply that it is associated with the Service or Instagram.
You must not access Instagram’s private API by means other than those permitted by Instagram. Use of Instagram’s API is subject to a separate set of terms available here: http://instagram.com/about/legal/terms/api/ (“API Terms”).
You must not create or submit unwanted email, comments, likes or other forms of commercial or harassing communications (a/k/a “spam”) to any Instagram users.
You must not use domain names or web URLs in your username without prior written consent from Instagram.
You must not interfere or disrupt the Service or servers or networks connected to the Service, including by transmitting any worms, viruses, spyware, malware or any other code of a destructive or disruptive nature. You may not inject content or code or otherwise alter or interfere with the way any Instagram page is rendered or displayed in a user’s browser or device.

You must not create accounts with the Service through unauthorized means, including but not limited to, by using an automated device, script, bot, spider, crawler or scraper.
Create an account
Instagram is primarily a mobile app, so in order to create an account, you will have to download Instagram app first. The app is available for iOS, Android and Windows phone. After the app is installed click on the icon to open it.
Use one of the two options to create an account:
– Register with email (you will need to provide a username and a password)
– Register with Facebook (you will need to sign in to your Facebook account)
After you create an account within the mobile app, you will be able to access your Instagram account from your computer as well, but not all of the options will be available when accessing with computer.
Customize the account
Go to your Instagram account and tap on the “Edit the Profile” in the top right corner of the screen. You can edit the profile photo, add your short biography (up to 150 characters) and link to your website. These customization option will help you promote your brand. People can than follow you and share your photos.
Sharing on Instagram
Sharing content on Instagram helps you share on multiple social networks at once, as you can integrate Facebook, Twitter and other social network. Use settings option in your app, tap on “Share Settings” and then choose the social network you want.
Once you’ve taken a photo or selected one from your phone, you can add effects or filters and caption the photo before sharing. Keep in mind that you can’t take photos when viewing Instagram on a desktop computer or browser.
You can tag people by tapping on the photo and entering the name or the username of the person you want to tag.
